Emperor Daigo

Emperor Daigo is young, but not stupid. He has seen his country transform. From a global hub to a closed nation, in some ways reminiscent of the country ruled by his ancestors centuries ago.

He saw the military take control of Tokyo when he was just a boy. The imperial family forced to abdicate, and he was elevated to the throne by ancient blood ties, but without any rights.

Daigo knows he is merely a front for the empire's military forces, who use him as a symbol of national unity in the face of pressure from international forces closing in on the country with their navies.

However, he suspects there is something more behind the military's seizure of power, especially after discovering a highly defended secret base beneath Mount Fuji.

The young emperor possesses none of the talents so sought after by the military government. However, he has a brilliant mind and considerable tactical acumen, not to mention a natural ability to captivate his listeners and inspire loyalty.

Thanks to his family's wealth and government funding, he recruits a group of young people to attend a private school near the Ise Shrine (Ise Imperial Academy).

The military believes it's just a game, and for the emperor, it's just a pastime. But with the help of a mysterious mutant with crow wings who calls himself Sōjōbō Tengu, the students at the Ise school have become true warriors.

Daigo now waits for the right moment to change his destiny and, above all, discover what lies beneath Mount Fuji.
